Most existing modelling and BIM tools show all of their functionality as always-visible buttons. Given the complexity of these tools, that’s a lot of buttons! This results in an intimidating UI to learn as a new user (and a clunky interface for experience users).

Arcol makes use of a contextual menu to reduce clutter in our UI. For example, the default menu does not contain a sweep button but if two sketches are selected that could be swept then a sweep button is shown. The goal of Arcol is to be approachable and easy to learn while having the full depth and power of any other modelling tool → the contextual menu makes this possible.

The contextual menu appears in the middle of the toolbar depending on what is selected.
